Embracing Summer

Shirt: Gap
Jeans: Uniqlo
Loafers: Russell&Bromley
Belt: from my childhood, almost vintage now!
Necklace: Anthropologie
Watch: Casio
Bag: vintage (my mum's)

Summer has arrived and I can't complain anymore! Well, about the rain yes, but nevermind, one cannot have everything in life!
Today I managed to store away the winter coats and make some space in my tiny shared wardrobe - success! I have hanged a newly bought Barbour (in the sales, of course) although still has got the tag, just in case I regret spending money on something I don't "need" but rather "want". Still, it was half price and the only one left on the rack so I think it was meant to be. The excuse that never fails :)

Excuse the crappy pictures of this post...

Have a good weekend!x

Wedding Day

These are photographs I took at a friends' wedding day near Reading. James and I had a lovely time and the wedding was beautiful, but it was a bit chilly! This was back in April so the weather wasn't really spring-like yet (this winter didn't seem to end...).
The wedding theme was tea (and tea pots and tea cups were to be found everywhere) - we even got to play mixing different tea leaves to create our bespoke tea bag!
I was wearing a dress from Anthropologie and ballet flats from Pretty Ballerinas - a bit of a shame that I don't have a picture of the full outfit as it was too cold outside to take my coat off and I forgot to take one while inside the barn!

Latest buy!

Last Saturday I got these lovely earrings from the Anthropologie sale (that never ends, they just keep adding new items every month). I had seen these before but didn't want to pay the full price (28 pounds) so I was so happy when I say they were half price!! The are not really my style but oh they are so so pretty and look so expensive when put on! :)
I'm thinking about wearing them with just a cashmere sweater or a plain t-shirt once the weather warms up!
One drawback was that for that price they are not silver so I had to swop the hooks with some silver ones I had at home, otherwise they give me allergy...

I'm looking forward to this weekend starting from tonight - I'm going to The Photographer's Gallery for a talk and tomorrow to a breakfast preview of the Roy Lichtenstein exhibition at the Tate Modern followed by brunch and an afternoon spent down in Kent! How exciting, normally I don't have such interesting weekends!

Valentine's Day!

Hope you had a wonderful Valentine's Day, whether you were with your partner or enjoying being single! For me it's just an excuse to eat chocolate and get (and give) some lovely little presents :)

Christmas Outfit

Christmas Outfit

My dream outfit: Sapphire dress, necklace, earrings and rib-cage ring all from Anthropologie; Salvatore Ferragamo Vara pumps.

I feel Christmas is almost upon us even if we are not yet in December (blame all the cosy window displays and Christmas lights in the streets!). So I'm already dreaming of a Christmas outfit, again even if I don't dress up that much for Christmas! It's all quite relaxed in my family and the only thing we really dress up is the table.
Anyway, I got this super duper beautiful dress in Anthropologie with my birthday money and I can't wait to wear it, so maybe I will dress up for Christmas Eve this year. I don't own any dresses (well I've got some, but I don't wear them, ha!) so you could say I'm making an exception this time. Luckily, the dress is not as short as in the picture and it covers my knees, making the fact that I'm showing my legs a bit less uncomfortable. I really feel so happy to have found a dress that I like myself in and that I can wear to lots of occasions. Or at least that's what I say to myself... :)
Weddings, dinner parties, the opera....the places where I go so often haha
The good thing about this dress is that I can get away wearing ballerinas or a small heel like the one that a pair of Salvatore Ferragamo Vara pumps have, the perfect excuse to own them!
I just hope I will use this dress enough to compensate the amount of money spent on it! (Although, I got it with a 20% discount..)
Wish me luck!

Recent buys

About a week ago I went to Kings Road in Chelsea and as I always do I go into pretty much any shop that catches my attention. So I got off from the bus at Chelsea Old Town Hall and I thought I would have a sneaky peek at Anthropologie's Mid-Season sale (the word "sale" played a big part on me going in) - what a mistake!! My boyfriend knew what was coming next, but I was saying to myself that there was no reason to think I would end up buying something, but of course I did.
This photos are the proof.
I already had the plate and the necklace on it from previous trips to the shop. James and I bought between us the two pretty coasters. I had been wanting the pink one (called Celestial Coaster, such a cool name) for sooooo long and it was on sale! Also the blue (the print on it meant to look like lace but it reminds me of fossils). The gold necklace was an impulsive last minute buy (and early birthday present from James). Couldn't resist having it as it is so similar to this Marc Jacobs one I have always liked but is much more pricey. Now I have my two statement necklaces for this season :)

Molly and Robert's House

This is Molly and Robert's house in Kansas City, Missouri; isn't it beautiful? They did all the decorating by themselves which is really impressive, as none of them is a interior designer (Molly is a personal wardrobe stylist and Robert is a painter). I leave you with a few pictures of their house and if you want to read the full article just go to Design*Sponge.

One day I will have a velvet armchair!

Can I have that lamp, please??

I love the colour combination of this room

I wish I had the space to do this!

You can find these beautiful towels in Anthropologie

Moving out

anthro wish list

We are moving flat the first week of September and this provides me with all sort of excuses for making wish-lists and dreaming about buying tons of stuff in Ikea (that's what my budget would allow ok!?).
But now that I work in Anthropologie I find myself surrounded by lots of pretty things and I can't possibly stop thinking about what to get, so Polyvore is quite useful to show you what I have in my mind right now - turquoise, silver and glass. I predict how difficult choosing a scent candle will be...

Latest purchase

Couldn't resist buying these two bowls from Anthropologie last Wednesday! They had a good price compared to other things in the shop. The big one was 3.50 pounds and the small just 2 pounds! I definitely needed a bowl for nuts and another one for soup, also the colours are soooo nice... :)
Have a good weekend! Here we are having some sunshine at last!

Paula's House

 Welcome to Paula's House

Isn't it a cozy house?? A place where you could drop your cup of tea and it wouldn't be a drama. I love the mix of colours and textures, the eclectic look and those little mirrors above the fireplace! Most of it from flea markets I guess :)
All that has got me wandering around Anthropologie and making my tiny wish list (already worth thousands of pounds! ha!). I always like the most expensive things, how about you? ;)
